abstract = {The site percolation problem is one of the core topics in statistical physics. Evaluation of the percolation threshold, which separates two phases (sometimes described as conducting and insulating), is useful for a range of problems from core condensed matter to interdisciplinary application of statistical physics in epidemiology or other transportation or connectivity problems. In this paper with Newman–Ziff fast Monte Carlo algorithm and finite-size scaling theory the random site percolation thresholds pc for a square lattice with complex neighborhoods containing sites from the sixth coordination zone are computed. Complex neighborhoods are those that contain sites from various coordination zones (which are not necessarily compact). We also present the source codes of the appropriate procedures (written in C) to be replaced in original Newman–Ziff code. Similar to results previously found for the honeycomb lattice, the percolation thresholds for complex neighborhoods on a square lattice follow the power law pc(ζ)∝ζ−γ2 with γ2=0.5454(60), where ζ=∑iziri is the weighted distance of sites in complex neighborhoods (ri and zi are the distance from the central site and the number of sites in the coordination zone i, respectively).},

ABSTRACT = {In this paper, we present stochastic synchronous cellular automaton defined on a square lattice. The automaton rules are based on the SEIR (susceptible $\to$ exposed $\to$ infected $\to$ recovered) model with probabilistic parameters gathered from real-world data on human mortality and the characteristics of the SARS-CoV-2 disease. With computer simulations, we show the influence of the radius of the neighborhood on the number of infected and deceased agents in the artificial population. The increase in the radius of the neighborhood favors the spread of the pandemic. However, for a large range of interactions of exposed agents (who neither have symptoms of the disease nor have been diagnosed by appropriate tests), even isolation of infected agents cannot prevent successful disease propagation. This supports aggressive testing against disease as one of the useful strategies to prevent large peaks of infection in the spread of SARS-CoV-2-like diseases.},

abstract ={The problem of ‘humans and work’ in a model working group is investigated by means of the cellular automata technique. The attitude of members of a group towards work is measured by an indicator of loyalty to the group (the number of agents who carry out their tasks) and lack of loyalty (the number of agents who give their tasks to other agents). Initially, all agents realize scheduled tasks one by one. Agents with the number of scheduled tasks larger than a given threshold change their strategy to an unloyal one and begin to avoid completing tasks by passing them to their colleagues. Optionally, in some conditions, we allow agents to return to the loyal state; hence the rule is hysteretic. Results are presented on an influence of (i) the density of tasks, (ii) the threshold number of tasks assigned to the agent, forcing him/her to change strategy on the system efficiency. We show that a ‘black’ scenario of the system stacking in a ‘jammed phase’ (with all agents preferring the unloyal strategy and having plenty of tasks scheduled for realization) may be avoided when return to loyalty is allowed and either (i) the number of agents chosen for task realization, (ii) the number of assigned tasks, (iii) the threshold value of assigned tasks that forces the agent to conversion from a loyal strategy to an unloyal one, or (iv) the threshold value of tasks assigned to an unloyal agent that forces him/her to task redistribution among his/her neighbors, are smartly chosen.},

abstract = {Restoring site percolation on a damaged square lattice with the nearest neighbor (N-2) is investigated using two different strategies. In the first one, a density y of new sites are created on the empty sites with longer range links, either next-nearest neighbor (N-3) or next-next-nearest neighbor (N-4), but without N-2. In the second one, new longer range links N-3 or N-4 are added to N-2 but only for a fraction v of the remaining nondestroyed sites. Starting at p(c)(N-2), with a density x of randomly destroyed sites, the values of y(c) and v(c), which restore site percolation, are calculated for both strategies with, respectively, N-3 and N-4 using Monte Carlo simulations. Results are obtained for the whole range 0 <= x <= p(c)(N-2).},

abstract = {A social group is represented by a graph, where each pair of nodes is connected by two oppositely directed links. At the beginning, a given amount p(i) of resources is assigned randomly to each node i. Also, each link r(i,j) is initially represented by a random positive value, which means the percentage of resources of node i which is offered to node j. Initially, the graph is fully connected, i.e., all nondiagonal matrix elements r (i, j) are different from zero. During the simulation, the amounts of resources p(i) change according to the balance equation. The nodes reorganize their activity with time to give more resources to those which give them more. This is the rule of varying the coefficients r (i, j). The result is that after some transient time, only some pairs (m, n) of nodes survive with nonzero p(m) and p(n), each pair with symmetric and positive r(m, n) = r(n, m). Other coefficients r(m, i not equal n) vanish. Unpaired nodes remain with no resources, i.e., their p(i) = 0, and they cease to be active as they have nothing to offer. The percentage of survivors (i.e., those with p(i) positive) increases with the velocity of varying the numbers r(i, j), and it slightly decreases with the size of the group. The picture and the results can be interpreted as a description of a social algorithm leading to marriages.},

The structure is topologically equivalent to the Archimedean (3,12(2)) lattice. The ground state energy is degenerate. In some ground states, the spin structure is translationally invariant, with the same configuration in each unit cell. Numerical results are reported on specific heat and static magnetic susceptibility against temperature. Both quantities show maxima at temperature T > 0. They reveal some sensitivity on the initial state in temperatures where the Edwards-Anderson order parameter is positive. For zero temperature and low frequency of the applied field, the magnetic losses are negligible. However, the magnetization curve displays some erratic behavior due to the metastable states.},

As an example, we use the algorithm to obtain the thermal-dependence of the magnetic spin susceptibility of an Ising antiferromagnet for a 8 x 8 square lattice with open boundary conditions. The results agree qualitatively with the prediction of the Monte Carlo simulations and the experimental data, and they are better than the mean field approach results. abstract = {The random deposition model must be enhanced to reflect the variety of surface roughness due to some material characteristics of the film growing by vacuum deposition of sputtering. The essence of the computer simulation in this case is to account for possible surface migration of atoms just after the deposition, in connection with the binding energy between atoms (as the mechanism provoking the diffusion) and/or diffusion energy barrier. The interplay of these two factors leads to different morphologies of the growing surfaces, from flat and smooth ones to rough and spiky ones. In this paper, we extended our earlier calculation by applying an extra diffusion barrier at the edges of terrace-like structures, known as the Ehrlich-Schwoebel barrier. It is experimentally observed that atoms avoid descending when the terrace edge is approached, and these barriers mimic this tendency. Results of our Monte Carlo computer simulations are discussed in terms of surface roughness, and compared with other model calculations and some experiments from literature. The power law of the surface roughness sigma against film thickness t was confirmed. The nonzero minimum value of the growth exponent beta near 0.2 was obtained which is due to the limited range of the surface diffusion and the Ehrlich-Schwoebel barrier. Observations for different diffusion ranges are also discussed. The results are also confirmed with some deterministic growth models.},

The results of the computer simulations based on the random deposition (RD) enriched by a local relaxation, which tends to maximize the number of a particle-particle lateral bonds (PPLB) against barriers blocking diffusion are presented. The influence of strength of the atoms interactions and barriers for diffusion on Nm roughness and possible bridges between the layers in trilayered sandwich system are considered. For magnetic layers with a non-magnetic spacer the bridging is responsible for direct magnetic coupling between layers. Also variation of the spacer thickness, when scanning the film surface is essential for uniformity of the magnetic coupling between the layers. Number of bridges for very thin spacer and variation of the spacer thickness are discussed in this work. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A.;All rights reserved.},

On this basis, gradual reshuffling is studied as function of 0 <= p <= 1 where p measures the probability of spin reshuffling after each Monte Carlo step. The variation of TC as function of p is obtained and exhibits a nonlinear behavior. The simplest Solomon network realization is noted to reproduce Calam p = 1 result. The only parameter of the inap describes the probability that a tree appears at an empty cell during one time step. The obtained inap is non-differentiable at the percolation threshold. The Lyapunov exponent for the map is positive. Also, we found the cycle of length three by means of the method of symbolic dynamics.
