Leszek Siwik, Ph.D, DS.C
Passionate practitioner and researcher in AI, cybersecurity, and software systems for space missions and exploration

My work focuses on space-exploration software systems, including secure-by-design and robust software architectures for space missions, with a particular emphasis on mission safety and security across both software and communication layers.
My long-standing interest and area of expertise lie in building intelligent, resilient, and resource-aware systems capable of functioning in demanding or mission-critical environments. This naturally led me to active research in embodied, embedded, and ultra-low-power AI systems — including neuromorphic and nature-inspired approaches that enable lightweight onboard reasoning under severe power, bandwidth, and computational constraints. Such systems allow spacecraft, orbital platforms, and distributed space infrastructures to reason about threats, operate safely under uncertainty, and maintain mission continuity even when isolated from Earth or operating under a full communication blackout.
I am always open to new challenges, topics, and collaborations. I enjoy working with people who are curious, pragmatic, ambitious, and independent — those who aren’t afraid to explore bold ideas and turn them into useful systems.
If you share my passion for e-space systems, believe that there are no problems but only challenges, and treat those challenges as opportunities — feel free to reach out. I will do my best to support, guide, and collaborate with you.
