PERVS'98 is the first conference, which gathers researchers from both Computer Science and Philosophy involved in the problem of evolution in real and virtual systems.

The conference will take place in Krakow, one of the leading cultural and scientific centers of Poland, the former capital, a famous beautiful old town with the oldest Polish university - Jagiellonian University founded in 1364.

• Evolution - theory or metaphysical program.
• Mechanisms of culture evolution.
• Evolutionary computation - theory and practice.

 Call for papers

You are invited to submit a complete research paper or a proposal for a panel discussion. The subject is not strictly limited to the topics given above. Papers should describe original unpublished research work All accepted papers will be published in the PERVS'98 Proceedings. Paper submissions should be no longer than 8 pages or 5,000 words.

Each submission should include:

• the title of the paper or panel discussion,
• authors' names and affiliations,
• addresses and phone numbers,
• e-mail address of the principal author,
• an abstract of no more than 100 words,
• keywords giving a clear identification of the topic.

Fee
 
The conference fee is 150 USD. For information about fee in PLN please contact us.
The fee includes conference proceedings, coffee during  the conference sessions, the reception and social programme.The fee does not include accomodation.

Instructions for Authors

 Rules of the layout of camera-ready copies:

• the paper should be prepared WITHOUT PAGE NUMBERING,
• use Roman font, 12 point, paper size A4,
• the paper should be no longer than 15 pages,
• formats: *.doc for Microsoft Word, *.tex for Tex, *.ps for any other.

Presentation time and equipment

• time of paper presentation - 20 min.
• during presentation an overhead projector will be available.
• please let us know if you need anything more for your presentation.
